ABSTRACT

Maggie, Rileigh and Xiaoxiao are full time professional editors. In their day-to-day they oversee the peer review process, work closely with authors on submissions, and recruit diverse perspectives on key research challenges. They will go over the Cell Press ecosystem, the journals they work at, the publishing process, and any questions about conveying research at large.

BIOGRAPHY

Maggie Fox.

Maggie earned her BS in Materials Chemistry from Binghamton University and her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from UCLA in 2023. During her studies she primarily focused on solid-state and 3D Li-ion batteries and sol-gel for energy materials. She joined Joule in November 2024 and is based in the New York office. She specializes in batteries and supercapacitors.

Rileigh DiDomenico.

Rileigh earned her BS in Chemical Engineering from Bucknell University and her PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Cornell in 2023, focusing on electrocatalytic CO2 reduction. She joined Cell Press in 2023, handling papers at iScience, Chem Catalysis, and Joule. In 2025 she joined Cell Reports Physical Science handling their catalysis, engineering, and energy research. She is based in Beacon, NY.

Xiaoxiao Qiao.

Xiaoxiao earned her PhD in materials and organic chemistry from Indiana University in 2016. She then moved to Argonne National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory for postdoctoral studies on the applications of catalysts in Li-air batteries, fuel cells, and water electrolyzers. She joined Chem Catalysis in January 2022 and based in Philadelphia, PA. She specializes in organic and organometallic chemistry, homogenous catalysis, and their applications.
