ABSTRACT
Recent advancements in both machine learning and artificial intelligence have the potential to have a profound impact on human society and industry. The environmental and engineering fields are also experiencing an exponential interest in harnessing the potential of these new advances and tools. This presentation will provide an overview of current AI tools in the environmental and engineering and field and processes being used to build these AI models. Using these models, current applications of the tools will be discussed as well as planned future developments. The environmental impact of AI will also be discussed as well as efforts being done to lower that considerable environmental impact.
BIOGRAPHY
Steven Eget is a Sr. Vice President with WSP USA leading their Metro New York Environmental Services Group. He has over 30 years of experience in Environmental Consulting specializing in Sustainability, Environmental Compliance, Permitting and Management. He has his B.S in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Rutgers as well as his Master’s in Environmental Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Peter Sutherland is a Vice President with WSP USA and a technical director in their Metro New York Environmental Engineering Group. He has over 30 years of experience in Environmental Consulting with a focus on Environmental Infrastructure, Permitting, Compliance and Mitigative Design. He has his B.S in Geologic Sciences from the University at Albany, as well as his Master’s in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Rup Deka is a Consultant- Automation & AI in Earth & Environment Group of WSP USA Inc. He ha over 15 Years of Experience in Automation and Project Management focusing on AI Solution implementation in Environmental Projects. He is a Bachelor of Science from Gauhati University, India and MBA from Sri Sharda Institute of Management, India.
