ABSTRACT
Skein modules, from their humble beginning in April 1987, grew into a mainstream branch of mathematics. I will outline the path Skein Modules took, from my personal historical perspective.
BIOGRAPHY
Jozef H. Przytycki is Professor of Mathematics at George Washington University. He completed his doctoral degree at Columbia University under the direction of Joan Birman. His mathematical interests include knot theory and topology.
