A Summer at Stevens

Are you interested in attending a residential summer Pre-College program on a campus overlooking the New York City skylines? Do you want to enhance your English writing skills and meet students from around the world? Stevens Pre-College Programs will be hosting an exclusive 3-Day International Student Weekend where a limited number of international students will be selected to participate in a writing program taught by our prestigious Stevens faculty, as well as meet Stevens students and staff, and have some fun exploring some of the picture-perfect sights in this area.  After you complete this weekend course, you will then dive right into your one or two-week Pre-College program at Stevens!

Writing Course

Get the most out of your Pre-College program with this interactive weekend workshop.  We demystify the writing process and prepare you for communicating in American universities.  Readings will focus on how we engage with technology.  Modules will include; academic writing, speaking, and critical reading. Students will leave the course with enhanced reading and writing skills to better prepare them for the college application process.Dates: Thursday, July 7th- Sunday, July 10thCost: This International Weekend is an additional $1,000 to your other Stevens Pre-College program costs.  Pre-College Programs offered in conjunction with the International Immersion Weekend are the following:

  • Business Explorer: $2,700

  • Civil Engineering Design & Architecture: $2,700

  • Cybersecurity- Advanced: $2,700

  • Exploring Career Options in Engineering & Science (ECOES): $4,200

  • Introduction to Coding: $2,700 

What to expect?

  • Thursday, July 7th: Arrival To Campus: Our Pre-College team will coordinate your arrival to campus, Check in to residence halls, and meet our summer staff

  • Friday, July 8th: Immersion Weekend Orientation, Icebreaker activities, & Exploration in New York City

  • Saturday, July 9th: Morning and Afternoon Writing Course Sessions & Dinner in Hoboken

  • Sunday, July 10th: Morning Course Session and Culmination of Program, Orientation to Pre-College Summer Program

Who can apply?

Rising high school juniors and seniors with primary citizenship outside of the United States that are seeking improved skills in English writing, public speaking, and reading.

How do I apply?

Complete the Pre-College Summer 2022 application and select your Stevens Pre-College Program. Once you reach the Citizenship Information portion, click YES to apply for a spot in this exclusive  program.

How will I know I'm accepted to the International student weekend program?

You will receive your decision letter in conjunction with your Pre-College program decision letter.

Will I be able to participate in the Pre-College summer programs as well?

Yes! Students must be accepted into one of our summer 2022 programs. Below is a list of programs offered in conjunction with the International Student weekend program:

  • ECOES (Exploring Careers in Engineering Science): 2 Week Program

  • Introduction to Coding: 1 Week Program

  • Civil Engineering Design Architecture: 1 Week Program

  • Cybersecurity (Advanced): 1 Week Program

  • Business Explorer: 1 Week Program

How do I coordinate travel?

We will be offering free transportation to the Stevens campus from Newark International Airport only. If participants fly into other airports, they must coordinate travel to campus on their own. We ask that you notify our staff of your travel plans. Our Pre-College team will coordinate airport pickup prior to your program start. 

Is there financial aid available for this program?

There is no financial aid available for this program.

Is Stevens requiring vaccinations for international students to attend?

Stevens is requiring all program student participants to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Students will receive information regarding uploading immunization records.
