The Stevens Summer is a pre-college experience that challenges, and promotes discovery and exploration. Each summer, talented high school students from the United States and all over the world come to Stevens for a true residential college experience. Get a taste of campus life, experience hands-on projects, visit successful companies, take a bite out of the Big Apple, and make your college application stand out!

The Stevens Summer Advantage

The Stevens Summer offers a world-class educational experience minutes from the most exciting city in the world.  Discover New York City in and out of the classroom. Explore majors and interests from engineering to cybersecurity to medicine to multimedia and make friends from around the globe.


Stevens faculty carefully design programs that cover both breadth and depth, offering students real-world experience. Participants leave the program with expert insights and broad understanding in their field of interest.


Gain insider knowledge about the lives of professionals—engineers, scientists, business professionals and musicians in the field through on-campus and corporate site visits.


The residential experience is much more than just living on campus. From lasting, supportive social networks, careful supervision, numerous on-campus activities and excursions throughout NYC, the Stevens campus offers the best of both worlds. Programs Offered

Exploring Career Options in Engineering and Science (ECOES)

Learn first-hand what it means to be a scientist or engineer during this two-week program.  ECOES students will participate in academic engineering and science modules; contribute to group-based engineering design projects and complete hands-on research in state-of-the art laboratories. Visits to major engineering and science companies in the New York City area will provide opportunities to see first-hand what it takes to become an innovator in the fields of engineering and science.


The Stevens Business summer program trains you to be one of tomorrow’s leaders while allowing you to explore the advantages and challenges of entrepreneurship. Students are exposed to the various elements of business, such as finance, marketing, international business, social media and management. This program provides a solid foundation for students who wish to have a greater understanding of business operations as they explore business as a possible college major. Visits to companies such as the New York Stock Exchange and the Federal Reserve provide opportunities to network with successful leaders and entrepreneurs.

Computer Science

Gain insight into aspects of computer science that fuel, enable, and protect our information-driven economy. The Stevens Computer Science summer program is a project-based program that will teach fundamental problem-solving skills and provide hands on experience in the most exciting areas of computer science, including web technologies, cybersecurity, image processing and system administration.

Multimedia Production

Transform your passion for visual and audio arts into compelling music and video pieces. The Stevens Multimedia Production summer program teaches the ins and outs of audio engineering and videography. Gain hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art Media Arts Center, which features a recording studio; audio, video and animation software; and a green screen room. Draw inspiration from great producers and artists, both from the Stevens community and Manhattan, while creating your vision with cutting-edge technology.

Pre-Med Science and Engineering 

If you are thinking about pursuing a career in medicine, the Stevens Summer Pre-Med programs are a perfect way to explore traditional disciplines, as well as learn how the fields of science and engineering influence medicine.  During the Pre-Med Science programs, students will learn how chemistry and biology leads to drug discovery.  The Pre-Med engineering curriculum will focus on key research in the fields of human physiology, biomaterials, biomechanics, and transport in biological systems. Collaborate with other students to create your own medical research study.

Engineering Game Design 

Apply concepts in physics, engineering, math, and visual arts in an interactive research laboratory environment.  Then, work in project teams to apply these concepts to the development of an original video game, including concept/narrative development, game play, visual development, and scoring. Make use of Stevens outstanding resources, including:

-Markerless Motion Capture Lab 

-Mac Lab (for game development)

-Natural Gesture and 3D laboratory facilities

Science, Technology, and Society 

Understand how to direct the power of science and technology toward pressing societal needs. Learn the skills necessary to become technology savvy leaders of tomorrow. You’ll work with local professionals in business, industry, and government on important issues such as environmental sustainability, Internet privacy, healthcare policy, public relations, and science communication. You’ll also learn about career opportunities that will shape our technology-driven future.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship 

Use your own exciting ideas to learn how to build a company. Discover how to take an idea from concept to IPO or sale.  Gain hands-on research experience working on a project in research, design, and/or business development.  Develop an understanding of what it takes to bring technology to market.  Finally, pitch your own idea for a new company based on their experiences gained during the program.

Who Should Apply

The Stevens Summer is geared toward highly motivated, talented high school students entering their junior or senior year. Admissions decisions are based on academic achievement, involvement in extracurricular activities, teacher recommendation and demonstrated interest in exploring the subjects at hand.
