Department of Mathematical Sciences

The Department of Mathematical Sciences stands at the forefront of cutting-edge research and education in contemporary mathematical sciences.

Indispensable to engineering and the sciences, mathematics plays a central role in academic life at Stevens and our department offers the opportunity to explore this fascinating subject.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences is a leader in algebraic cryptography and is globally renowned for world-class expertise in stochastic modeling, mathematical models of risk, and optimization and control under uncertainty and risk. Our department conducts research in innovative educational technologies and has several outreach programs such as the Math Circle and Math Olympiad, which foster an enthusiasm and love for mathematics in school children. We hold weekly seminars, organize workshops and international conferences, and regularly host notable scholars. We welcome you to explore our homepage to learn more about our department.
