Subject:  Classes Cancelled and Offices Closed at Noon Today

Stevens will cancel classes and close offices at noon today and all day tomorrow due to inconsistent water pressure and the lack of water on campus and in Hoboken.  Classes will resume and offices will reopen after the Thanksgiving holiday on Monday, November 30.  Employees are encouraged to work from home if possible.  Essential employees must remain on campus.  We request that anyone remaining on campus past noon utilize the restrooms on the first and second floors of the buildings.  Bottled water will be available in the Howe Lobby.

  • Pierce Dining Hall will be open until 10 pm today and until 8 pm tomorrow.
  • The Schaefer Athletic Center and Walker Gym will close at noon today and remain closed until Saturday, November 28.  Coaches will contact players   about practices and games.
  • The Library will maintain regular hours unless conditions change and require closure.

Please remember that a boil water advisory remains in effect in Hoboken until further notice. Residents should boil their water for at least one minute for the following: drinking, cooking, or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks, feeding pets, and all other consumption. Water does not need to be boiled for showering, washing dishes or clothes.
The Hudson County Office of Emergency Management has deployed water tankers around Hoboken at 76 Bloomfield Street, 310-320 Jackson Street, City Hall (94 Washington Street), 311 13th Street, 14th Street and Sinatra Drive and in front of Hoboken High School (900 Clinton St.).  Please bring your own container.

For those driving in Hoboken, the City is strongly urging the public to travel through the north end.
