Temporary Housing

Stevens Institute of Technology offers temporary housing for new graduate students based on availability.

1.   Students will stay in a local hotel that is approximately one mile from campus.

2.   Advance registration is required. 

3.   Temporary housing is available from August 4 - August 27. 

4.   Students can stay in temporary housing for a minimum of 5 nights to a maximum of 14 nights. Students cannot stay past August 27.

Accommodations: All rooms will have 2 full beds, a coach, television and full bathroom. Bedding and bath towels are provided.

Students have two rental options.

Rental Option 1: $40/per student per night with four people per room

Rental Option 2: $75/per student per night with two people per room

You may cancel your reservation before July 28 for a 100% refund. If you cancel your reservation after July 28, you will be charged a $200 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for nights reserved but not used.

Stevens Temporary Housing Policies Check In/Check Out Policies & Student Conduct Stevens will provide temporary housing to international students. During the days of temporary housing we strongly encourage you to find permanent housing. 1. The cost of temporary housing is $40 per student per night with 4 people per room or $75 per student per night with 2 people per room. It will automatically be charged to your Stevens student account. 2. All students must check out on the date indicated. Students must completely vacate temporary housing by 12noon on the check-out date. 3. When your temporary housing accommodations have ended you MUST check out with Danielle Pagliuca. 4. You may be required to share a bed with other students. If this is a concern or issue please select the double occupancy rooming option. 5. EXTENSIONS: If you need to stay more nights in temporary housing you must make a request by seeing Danielle Pagliuca two days before your indicated check out date. If we have available room we will allow you to stay. It will be based on first come, first served. 6. Keys may not be copied or loaned to anyone. Each student is responsible for his/her own key. You must return your key during check out. If you do not return your key, you will automatically be charged $50 to your Stevens student account. If you lose your key during your stay, you will automatically be charged $50 to your Stevens student account. 7. Only Stevens students assigned to the room are allowed to stay in the room. No guests are allowed. 8. At all times Stevens reserves the right to assign or re-assign students to vacant beds as needed. 9. Each student must check out with Danielle Pagliuca in person. It is your responsibility to check out. If you do not you will be charged each additional day. 10. Students must comply with the policies of the Sheraton Hotel, laws of the state of New Jersey, the city of Weehawken and the student code of conduct as stated in the handbook. The student hand book can be found online at http://www.steves.edy/gradacademics/handbook/masters.html 11. All students are expected to be considerate and respectful of others. 12. Defacing any area of the hotel is prohibited. Any damage to the hotel, your room or furniture is the responsibility of the students staying in the room. If there is any damage it will be automatically charged to your student account. 13. You may not purchase any movies or games in the room. If you do, the cost of these items will automatically be charged to your student account. 14. You may not use the phone in your hotel room to make any calls. If you do, the cost of this service will automatically be charged to your student account. 15. You may not charge any food or beverages to the room. If you do, the cost of these items will automatically be charged to your student account. 16. Any services that the Sheraton offers are the financial responsibility of the student. If you utilize them you must pay in advance. If Stevens receives any of these costs, the cost will be automatically charged to your student account. 17. Alcohol: All residents must comply with all federal, state and local laws and ordinances. The drinking age in the United States is age 21 and over. Residents are reminded that it is a disorderly person offense to “serve or make available an alcoholic beverage to a person under the legal age for consuming alcoholic beverages” (NJ senate bill no. 2312). This is a criminal act. 18. Stevens is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. We encourage you to get a bank account as soon as possible and keep valuables in a secure space. 19. Stevens does not take responsibility for any personal possessions left behind in the hotel. 20. Stevens reserves the right to terminate your temporary housing at any time. 21. Temporary housing provides you the opportunity to have a place to stay while you are looking for permanent housing. Students should be actively looking for housing during this time. Be advised extensions for temporary housing are limited and not guaranteed. 22. You may cancel your reservation before December 20th for a 100% refund. If you cancel your reservation after December 20th, you will be charged a $200 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for nights reserved but not used. By accepting this waiver, you agree that you have read and understand all of the Stevens temporary housing policies. Your further acknowledge Stevens is not responsible for personal or possession damage before, during or after your stay in permanent housing.
