Staff and Support

The Office of Residence Life, located on the 7th floor of the Howe Center, manages all administrative functions related to housing and dining at Stevens. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and can be reached at 201.216.5128 or at [email protected].

Residents requiring assistance can visit their area office from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday. On weekends, the area offices are open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. The offices are staffed by area coordinators and RAs, and are located in Davis Hall, Jonas Hall and Humphreys Hall. The Davis Hall area office services Davis Hall, Hayden Hall and River Terrace Suites. The Jonas Hall area office services Jonas Hall, Palmer Hall, Castle Point Hall, Humphreys Hall and the Lore El Center. The Humphreys Hall Area Office services all of Stevens Leased Housing, including C.A.R.E House.

Our staff includes: 

Trina Ballantyne is the Dean of Residence Life. She provides the administrative leadership for all residential conferences and summer programs, manages the Stevens One-Card Office and Duck Bills program, and oversees Dining Services for residential, retail and catering locations on campus. Trina holds a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a master's degree from Montclair State University.

Tony Blazini is the Director of Residence Life and is responsible for the overall operation of the Department, including supervision of professional staff. His main duties include ensuring that all on- and off-campus facilities are well-maintained and outfitted for undergraduate and graduate students.  Tony oversees all contractors servicing the department, such as cleaning, waste management, fire safety, pest control, dining, and the shuttle bus. Tony completed his undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University and conducted his graduate work at Central Connecticut University.

Kurtis Watkins is the Assistant Director of Residence Life. His primary responsibility is the management of the Residential Program, serving as the chief judicial officer for Residence Life issues, summer conference manager, and advisor to the Resident Assistant Honor Society, Rho Alpha Sigma. Kurtis holds a BFA degree from Rutgers University and master's degree from Morgan State University. 

Patrick Monaco is the Assistant Director of Residence Life (Facilities).  Patrick is responsible for managing a variety of facilities related areas within the Office of Residence Life. These areas include processing the daily work orders, acting as a liaison between the Office of Residence Life and Physical Plant, organizing openings and closings of the residence halls, working with outside contractors, and supervising a student work crew. Patrick holds a master's degree from Stony Brook University.


Hyojin Lee is the Business Manager for the Office of Residence Life.  She has previously held positions as Budget Supervisor for The Children’s Aid Society in New York City, NY, and as a Business Specialist for The School of Social Work at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.

Catherine McGuire is the Office Manager of Residence Life. Cathy is responsible for administrative support for the dean, director and assistant directors of Residence Life. She also is the housing assignments coordinator. 


The Area Coordinator for upper campus, serves Jonas Hall, Palmer Hall, Humphreys Hall, Castle Point Hall and Lore El Center.  This staff member supervises a staff of 21 resident assistants, two student office assistants and one graduate assistant.

Steven Couras is the Area Coordinator for lower campus, serving Davis Hall, Hayden Hall and River Terrace Suites. Steven supervises a staff of 18 resident assistants, 3 student office assistants and 1 graduate assistant. Stevens holds a bachelor's degree from The Richard Stockton College and a master's degree from Montclair State University.

Chad Jones is the Area Coordinator for Stevens Leased Housing. Previously he worked at New England College as Area Coordinator and Berkeley College as Residence Counselor.

Angela Edge is the Campus Card Business Manager who oversees the daily financial operations of the Stevens Duck Bills program and the daily production and distribution of ID cards. Previously, she worked in the Stevens finance department as a staff accountant. She attended New Jersey City University and has a bachelor's degree in accounting.
