The mission of the Stevens Career Center is to support the University and Stevens students through the creation, implementation, and management of services, programs, and systems that meet the career development and employment needs of students and alumni.
This mission is accomplished through the fulfillment of the following six goals:
Assist students in understanding the relationship between what is learned in the classroom and entering a professional career.
Assist students in developing the basic knowledge, skills, and experience to identify career choices and pursue employment opportunities or advanced study related to their personal and professional objectives.
Develop relationships with employers and provide information on methods to recruit Stevens students and alumni for full time and internship employment.
Keep faculty, the administration, and the staff apprised of the career-related needs of Stevens students, the needs of employers, and current employment trends.
Support the holistic development of Stevens students and the goals of the Division of Student Affairs.
Support the mission of the University through emphasis on the four main tenants of the Stevens Strategic Plan: “Student Centricity”, “Excellence in Everything We Do”, Through Collaboration, Impact”, and Technology at the Core
Use of Personally Identifiable Candidate Information by the Career Center
Through CSO Research, known as CastlePointCareers online job listing database at Stevens Institute of Technology, registered students and alumni can post resumes, view and apply for jobs and internships, and schedule on-campus interviews. The information in a candidate’s profile is used by the Career Center for job-search advising, promoting programs and services, notifying candidates of employment opportunities, and referring qualified candidates to employers.
By submitting resume(s) to the CastlePointCareers database, students and alumni give the Career Center permission to release resume(s) to potential employers for recruiting purposes.
The Career Center also provides resumes to employers through Resume Books. Students who elect to have a resume added to the Resume Book, are agreeing to allow the Career Center to provide their resume to employers for recruiting purposes via the Resume Book format.
