Research

Research Engineer (Summer 2009 – Present at Stevens Institute of Technology): Responsibilities include planning and executing nine weather driven sampling events at 18 sites in the lower Passaic River, quality control, data analysis, water quality modeling of the data collected from these events for a pathogen TMDL, writing a report, and presenting the findings to all major stakeholders and at conferences

Graduate Research Assistant (Fall 2004 to Spring 2009 at Stevens Institute of Technology): Responsibilities included data analysis, modeling, chemical analysis, geotechnical analysis as relevant and prepared interim and final reports for the following projects:

             Total Maximum Daily Loads to address three HUC watersheds in Lower Passaic River, WMA4 (NJDEP, 2009-2011).

             Innovative Reuse of Dredged Material- Combined laboratory and field demonstration project for using dredged material in local fill applications (Schnabel Engineering/ Maryland Port Administration, 2008-2009).

             Solidification of Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soils (TRC Inc., 2007).

             Geotechnical Characterization of Contaminated Soil from a Chevron Facility in Perth Amboy, New Jersey (TRC Inc., 2006).

             Treatability Study and Field Support for the Environmental Remediation and Geotechnical Stabilization of Chromite Ore Processing Residue (Honeywell Inc., 2004-2007).

 

General Information

Dr. Jagupilla is a research engineer and adjunct faculty at Stevens Institute of Technology. Dr. Jagupilla has over 8 years of research experience in water, environmental and geo-environmental experimentation, data analysis, and modeling. He has four refereed journal publications and eight refereed conference proceedings. Dr. Jagupilla also serves as instructor for probability and statistics for engineers and scientists, modeling and simulation of environmental systems, geotechnical engineering, and groundwater hydrology and pollution. He was twice awarded the outstanding teaching assistant award by ASCE student chapter and was also recognized as the best teaching assistant in the institute. He is also a member of professional organizations such as ASCE, AAEE, and WEF.
