Take Advantage of the Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP)

Save time. Save money.

Learn more about SSE graduate programs and AMP options and benefits .

The Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP) at the School of Systems and Enterprises (SSE) affords students a cost-effective opportunity to complete both an undergraduate and graduate degree within five years. AMP allows students to double-count up to three courses (nine credits) from a pre-selected course list. These courses will count toward both their undergraduate and graduate degrees and effectively lower their credit cost. Additionally, the program only requires students to spend a minimum of one semester as a full-time graduate student on campus, allowing students to easily transition into the work force.

Certain incoming freshman students will be chosen to enroll in AMP, but must still apply for the program in their sixth or seventh undergraduate semester. Students not chosen for AMP upon enrollment may still apply in their sixth or seventh undergraduate semester. Interested students must hold at least a 3.0 GPA upon their enrollment and must have fulfilled all undergraduate requirements for their first five semesters.

SSE master’s degrees in engineering management, socio-technical systems, software engineering,* space systems engineering, systems analytics, systems security engineering and systems engineering accept up to three of the following:

  • courses from departments of engineering or science (that are approved for double counting)
  • any 500 level course starting with the call letters EM, ES, ISE, SES, SSW or SYS;
  • other courses may be accepted with program director approval
