Big Data: big data analytics, Internet measurements, Social network modeling and analysis, and high performance computing.

Data Science: Machine learning, graph data mining, synthetic graph generation, recommender systems, epidemic modeling, and complex networks of Internet, transportation, migration, protein interaction, etc.

Network Systems: Internet backbone, Internet topology modeling, edge computing, decentralized OSNs, flow analysis, IoT identification, and traffic fingerprinting.

Cyber Security: access control, anomaly detection, anonymizer technologies, digital currencies, forensics, privacy, trusted computing, and security of cyber physical systems such as cloud, edge, healthcare and smart grid.

General Information

Mehmet Hadi Gunes is an associate professor at the School of Systems and Enterprises. Before joining SSE, he was an associate professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. His research focuses on network systems, network science, data science and cybersecurity. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Justice, Department of Defense, Amazon AWS, Cincinnati Children's Center for Pediatric Genomics, Argonne ALCF, and the Nevada Homeland Security Grant Program.
