Jean Lee

Director of International Student and Scholar Services

Jean Lee is the Director of the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), leading Stevens’ efforts to provide international students and faculty with the support and guidance they need to thrive as members of the university community. She joined Provost Christophe Pierre's leadership team in January 2019 on an interim basis and has since become director of ISSS.

ISSS provides the professional expertise and resources necessary to maintain legal status compliance of our international community members in their immigration, academic and employment endeavors. Jean’s main responsibilities are to oversee compliance with U.S. immigration regulations applicable to the Stevens’ community and to provide overall leadership in strategies including advising, providing immigration services, promoting cross-cultural opportunities and offering specific programs and services to Stevens’ international population. In addition, Jean serves as Principal Designated School Official for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Responsible Officer for the U.S. Department of State to liaise between Stevens and government agencies.

Jean joined Stevens in 2014. Prior to her current role, she served as Associate Director and Advisor of International Student and Scholar Services. Before joining Stevens, Jean served as director and administrative manager of the School of International Programs at Centenary College. Jean also assisted in former U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s Transitional Task Force Project, commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of South Korea and the Ewha-United Nations International Colloquium on Human Rights, Development and Disability.

She earned her master’s degree in international studies with a concentration in development and cooperation from Ewha Women’s University and her bachelor’s degree with high honors in business administration and management from Centenary College.
