Thirteen Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems employees graduated with Master's of Engineering in Systems Engineering from Stevens in January 2013.
The students received their degrees following the completion of a two-and-a-half year degree program, all on their own time. As part of an external education program partnership with Northrop Grumman, students in the Stevens program met on-site in Bethpage, NY for each of their nine courses and completed an 800 capstone project.
A graduation celebration hosted by Stevens was held for the graduates at Carlyle on the Green at the Bethpage State Park, Farmingdale, NY on January 26th. Graduates were also invited to participate in the official commencement ceremonies on May 23rd in Hoboken, N.J.
Bob Klein, aerospace engineering vice president of engineering and global product development military aircraft systems at Northrop Grumman, was joined by Ralph Giffin, vice provost for strategic initiatives at Stevens, to present certificates and congratulate each graduate.
This was the seventh Northrop Grumman cohort to have graduated since the first cohort launched in 2004. There are currently five cohorts underway in El Segundo, Calif., Palmdale, Calif., Redondo Beach, Calif., Rancho Bernardo, Calif., and Denver, Colo. Two additional cohorts will begin in Redondo Beach and Baltimore in April 2013.
