Hoboken, N.J. – Stevens Institute of Technology has named Edward Stukane – an accomplished marketing strategist, public affairs and advertising executive, and high technology business partner – as its first Vice President of Communications and Marketing, starting on February 19, 2013. With a strategic, analytical and metrics-driven approach, Stukane will work with the communications and marketing team, university faculty and the extended community to strengthen Stevens’ reputation and increase its prestige – key goals articulated in the university’s 2012-2022 strategic plan.

Over his 30+ year career, Stukane has led business development efforts, conceptualized and executed brand building campaigns, led integrated marketing teams, and developed strategic planning efforts to grow enterprises through audience segmentation strategies, integrated marketing communications activities, market research, customer relations management (CRM) systems and media channels.
Stukane’s clients have included many notable global businesses and corporations such as AT&T, Siemens Medical Systems and General Electric. For AT&T’s consumer target segments he managed the strategy to grow the customer base in the college, new households and seniors markets. Stukane developed the People Express Airlines communications strategy, managed a national public relations campaign, and acted as company spokesperson in all news media. Other clients have included the Independent College Fund of NJ, Blue Cross & Blue Shield/NJ and in the early 1990s, Stevens Institute of Technology for its image advertising campaign.
Most recently, Stukane served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of PlanITROI, an IT asset management and disposition enterprise.
Stukane holds a B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Seton Hall University.
