HOBOKEN, N.J. - Castle Point Records is presenting its annual kickoff concert on Friday night, September 10, 2010, in Jacobus Lounge. This year’s concert starts the 2010 school year with a robust new lineup and a very competitive cover charge: Totally Free. Set to perform are Stevens’ own Aphrodesia (Benjamin Clifford, Jeff Madonna, Clifford Hults, Patrick Rutz), DJ LooSe (Pat Cunning) and DJ Malpa (Marco Malpeso). Also invited are some of NYC’s most talented hip-hop artists, including SuperKing Armor, Jesse Abraham, Premonition, Steve Fox, and Dollar Coffee. All artists have donated their time and talents to making this concert a success.
Aphrodesia, previously known as the Castle Point Records House Band, is a cover band in the classic rock tradition, consisting almost entirely of Castle Point’s previous executives. Benjamin Clifford (Lead Vocals/Guitar) and Jeff Madonna (Lead Guitar / Vocals) are senior Music & Technology majors. Clifford Hults (Bass) is a senior Computer Engineering major, and Patrick Rutz (Drums) is a Business & Technology major.
DJ LooSe, aka Pat Cunning, a senior Music & Technology Major describes himself as “a battle DJ turned party rocker.” He frequently spins at Willie McBrides, The Farside, and Shorty’s – all in Hoboken.
DJ Malpa, aka Marco Malpeso, is a sophomore Music & Technology major. Furthermore, from across the river come some of the finest hip-hop talent NYC has to offer: SuperKing Armor, Jesse Abraham, Premonition, Steve Fox, and Dollar Coffee.
Castle Point Records is a division of Stevens MultiMedia (SMM), LLC, a technogenesis company under the advisement of David Musial. The ultimate goal of SMM is to train Institute students in how to operate within a company. SMM also has a secondary goal of allowing students an avenue to make money from their work. The company holds weekly meetings in which members are expected to present ideas as if the group were a board of directors. Stevens Multimedia celebrates is fifth year by establishing a new Art division, with a specific aim to educate students about the advertising design and marketing fields
