Bill Robinson, Program Director & Professor, Systems Engineering at the School of Systems & Enterprises will be giving a talk on "Innovation or Quality" at the 2013 World Conference on Quality and Improvement (WCQI), from May 6 - 8, 2013 in Indianapolis, IN.
Hosted by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) a global community of professionals that are passionate about quality, the WCQI is the world's largest conference on quality. The ASQ has more than 80,000 individual and organizational members in 150 countries, and has the reputation and reach to bring together diverse quality champions who are transforming the world's corporations, organizations and communities to meet tomorrow's critical challenges.
The abstract of Robinson's talk on "Innovation or Quality": Customers expect both innovation and quality in the products/services they purchase, but the explosion of innovation continues at an increasing rate. Our capability to scale quality may not equal our capability to scale innovation if dealt with separately, but we can deal with this dilemma by applying a systems thinking approach. Organizations that use such an approach demonstrate that systematically delivering innovation need not be in conflict with delivering high quality.
