Visual Arts and Technology student Dan Zambrano ’14 is working as a production assistant with VH1’s Super Bowl Blitz in the lead up to the Super Bowl this weekend. He has spent the week working alongside a crew to provide full support to VH1’s production management team, a role that entails coordinating equipment rentals and production supplies, assisting with the set-up and tear-down of the set, rehearsing the logistics of the concert, and helping the crew during the live broadcast.
"Ever since my internship last spring at MTV News & Docs in their Production Management Department, I've had the amazing opportunity to freelance and network with their parent company Viacom," he said. "I got this gig through a production coordinator that I indirectly worked with on the 2013 VMA's. He contacted me to see if I was available and I of course accepted the opportunity to assist their production!"
Zambrano has built up an impressive resume since his internship, and has worked with the production team for MTV’s Europe Music Awards (EMA's) Kickoff and VMA All Access, as well as the television series Catfish.
While balancing his studies at Stevens, he started his own company, DZProductions, in 2009. His company provides production services and video solutions to several established institutions including Fortune 500 companies, Nike Basketball / Nike Football Society, CBS, Viacom Networks, Sundance Channel, universities, small start-up businesses and non-profit organizations.
