Men’s & Women’s Swimming Rack Up the Honors
The Ducks dominated this past weekend at the 2010 ECAC Championships, held in East Meadow, NY.
The men’s swimming team won the ECAC title for the second time on Sunday, finishing with an astonishing team total of 2,003.50 points. SUNY Geneseo placed second with just 1,212 points. Sophomore John Hu was named the Swimmer of the Meet after earning a championship-high 128 points. The Ducks recorded 17 NCAA cuts at the three-day event.
The women’s swimming team placed second at the ECAC Championships on Sunday, ending the three-day event with a team total of 1,592 points, just .50 behind winner Stony Brook University (1,592.50). As a team, the Ducks recorded 18 NCAA cuts in total with the 400-yard freestyle relay team recording an NCAA A-cut in a winning effort, and freshman Louise Moores earning the most individual points at the championship meet.
Hot on the heels of the impressive weekend for Stevens swimming at the ECAC Championships, Sophomore John Hu was named the Empire 8 Swimmer of the Week on Monday.
