CAL Professor and Student to Participate on Panel at United Nations

College of Arts and Letters' professor Dawn Digrius (Assistant Professor, History) and student Jessica Kalisch '13 (Social Scienceswill be participating on a panel for the Commission on the Status of Women conference at the United Nations (CSW 57) on March 11, 2013. The parallel event entitled "For Violence to Stop, For Culture of Peace to Spread, Give Women Equality!" will examine the correlation between gender equality and peace and will feature a presentation by Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury, the current chair of the International Day of Peace NGO Committee at the UN, and the Chairman of the Global Forum on Human Settlements.
