Database Tracks Instrument ‘Types’ - Hedge Fund Alert – March 27, 2013 -

Dr. Khaldoun Khashanah, Director of the Financial Engineering Program at the School of Systems & Enterprises  - ACTUS project appears in  Hedge Fund Alert Newsletter-

A group of academics and industry professionals is inviting hedge fund managers and other financial firms to test drive a new database designed to track the values and risks of virtually all types of investments.

The project, called Algorithm Contract Type Unified Standards, is being coordinated by the financial-engineering department at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J., with support from Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Deloitte and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The group hopes the system eventually will be adopted by the U.S. Treasury Department under a Dodd-Frank Act mandate that the government create a reference database covering all types of financial instruments.
