Sensor Networks

Our research asks the question: Where should sensors be placed to detect intrusion? Our research has looked at the general problem of perimeter defense; we have shown that axial configuration patterns are better in some cases than perimeter patterns. Recently, we have looked at intrusion detection in littoral environments. We have used environmental sensors and ocean models to predict current flow in estuaries, and in turn used these estimates to place sensors where an intruder is most likely to be.
