Donald R. Friedman, B.E. '68
Mr. Friedman is a seasoned senior marketing executive with extensive international and domestic experience in business strategy and general management, operations, marketing, sales, and product development.
He is currently a principal at Sequel, a boutique branding and marketing firm in NYC and was previously EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, CA Inc. In that role, Mr. Friedman was a key member of the turn-around team and built a world-class marketing and communications organization.
Mr. Friedman has held various senior management roles at IBM, including vice president of marketing and strategy for the company’s Server Group. Before that he served as general manager of three international business units for IBM Europe, Middle East and Africa - the PC company, SMB, and the AS/400 unit. He was well regarded at IBM for his entrepreneurial approach, software and hardware industry knowledge, strategic thinking and operational excellence. He was a member of IBM’s Strategy Execution Council, Worldwide Marketing Operations Board and Senior Management Group.
Mr. Friedman earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1968 from Stevens Institute of Technology and attended the University of Virginia and Northwestern executive programs. He is active in local community programs including the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDRF) and Riverside Yacht Club.
