The School of Business offers a unique Ph.D. program to complement its position as one of the leading schools in the area of business. The Ph.D. program is interdisciplinary, with a blend of three different knowledge domains — information management, technology and innovation management, and social computing — focused on the creation and augmentation of technology-driven innovation.
Faculty at Stevens are deeply committed to academic excellence, and prepare Ph.D. students to conduct innovative and creative research related to current and relevant technology and innovation management issues in private and public organizations. That's a hallmark of Stevens, which recognizes the need not only to do relevant research, but also to ensure it has an impact at companies and organizations that rely upon our thought leaders to help them understand and manage technology in the workplace.
This program also puts an emphasis on developing the skills to create and apply, in addition to the more traditional skills set of understanding and analysis. This helps students who have completed the Ph.D. program to be prepared to independently conduct creative and innovative research projects, enabling them to join the faculty of leading academic institutions or to take high-level positions in industry that require analytical thinking and technology-related creativity.
