With Dr. Alice E. Smith of Auburn University

"Lunch With Her" is presented by [email protected] on Friday, April 5 from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the CCSE Lab in Babbio 541A. The third in a series of talks, [email protected] presents "Career Development for Women in Academia" with Dr. Alice E. Smith.

Dr. Smith is the Joe W. Forehand/Accenture Distinguished Professor of the industrial and systems engineering department at Auburn University, as well as holds a joint appointment with the department of computer science and software engineering. Dr. Smith’s research focus is analysis, modeling and optimization of complex systems with emphasis on computation inspired by natural systems. She holds one U.S. patent and several international patents, and has authored more than 200 publications. Dr. Smith is also a fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a senior member of the Society of Women Engineers, and a member of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS).
