The Sustainability Seminar Series continues both onsite and online via a Blackboard Collaborate webinar on Wednesday, March 1 with Utilizing Sustainable Principles for Water Quality Management with Biswarup Guha, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
Mr. Biswarup Guha (Roop) has been an employee with the NJDEP since 2012 subsequent to his 10 years of progressive experience as a water quality modeler at HydroQual-HDR. While at HydroQual-HDR, he participated in several diverse national as well as international water quality, hydrodynamic and watershed projects. At NJDEP, he works on various initiatives such as surface water quality standards (SWQS) development, watershed planning and restoration, sustainability, combined sewer overflow permits, biennial 305(b) Integrated water quality report, 303(d) list for impaired waters, automating state-wide assessment process and Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL). Currently, he supervises staff and the Department’s SWQS program. He also represents New Jersey on the Toxics Advisory Committee of the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) and water quality committee of the NY/NJ Harbor Estuary Program (HEP). Mr. Guha possesses a master of science degree from Northeastern University in environmental engineering and a bachelor of engineering in civil engineering from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, India.
The Sustainability Seminar Series is organized by the master of science program in Sustainability Management and sponsored by the Center for Environmental Systems and the Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering (CEOE).
