The Undergraduate Math Seminar, organized by the Department of Mathematical Sciences, meets every Wednesday from 4:30-5:30pm in Room 360 of the Kidde Building.
The seminar caters specifically to math majors and other undergraduate students and aims to allow students to discuss mathematical topics that interest them in a relaxed and fun setting. Presentations may be given by graduate students, faculty members, or undergraduates themselves. Lively discussions and group problem solving are encouraged.
This semester, the seminar has a focus on group theory, with the goal of approaching some open problems surrounding one-relator groups.
Questions about the seminar can be emailed to Jan Cannizzo at [email protected]. Everyone is welcome!
