Abstract

Gregg Bjork’s lecture will illuminate the path an entrepreneur should take to find success in a start-up company and will provide guidance in developing and selling multiple start-up companies based on his own successful experiences.

Biography

Mr. Bjork is an accomplished operating executive with extensive experience in early-stage, venture-backed technology companies. He has held senior-level executive and operating positions in companies at all stages of development from pre-seed and seed-stage through acquisition and an IPO. He is also an Entrepreneur in Residence for the Stevens Venture Center.

Mr. Bjork has worked with both venture-backed startups and publicly traded companies and has a deep understanding of technology, including enterprise infrastructure software, SOA, Cloud, SaaS, MarTech and mobile. He has been instrumental in founding growing and existing companies in multiple markets, including client-server technology (Powersoft), IP telephony (Netcentric), service-oriented software (Systinet and WebLayers), network security (Bradford Networks) and mobile (Verivo Software). 

For the past eight years, Mr. Bjork has been providing C-level strategic guidance in both back-office and front-office software company development and team building, executive leadership, sales and marketing, business and corporate development, and broad and investor management. He specializes in strategic go-to-market development and the critical integration of all aspects of a dynamic and growing company. He has a bachelor of science in computer science from Worcester State University.

This event is open to all Stevens students, faculty, alumni, staff and invited guests. Registration is required.

Poster Session and Reception

After the lecture, a reception and poster session will be held in Walker Gym from 4-6 p.m. showcasing the research and entrepreneurial projects of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Summer Scholars and the Pinnacle Scholars. Explore findings and take advantage of opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
