An Inside Look at the Bloomberg Administration's Economic Development Strategy

Stevens Venture Center Speaker Series

The Stevens Venture Center Speaker Series presents Robert W. Walsh, executive director of the HELP USA Fund, an organization that has grown to become one of the nation’s largest homeless service providers and low income housing developers. From January 2002 to December 2013, he served in the Bloomberg administration as commissioner of the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS). During his twelve year tenure, he reshaped SBS to become one of the city's most innovative agencies in serving the needs of its 200,000 small businesses. In addition, he is an on-air personality for 1010 WINS Radio and does a segment called “The Bottom Line for Small Business” which airs every Monday and Friday. He is also the host of the 1010 WINS Canon Maxify Printers Small Business Challenge. Mr. Walsh currently teaches in the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College where he also directs the executive masters in Public Administration Program.
