Harry will define what Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) means and how it is applied in practice. We will discuss the history of ESG as well the current ESG landscape for companies and investors. He will describe the different ways that companies and investors think about ESG. Do investors need to sacrifice returns to maximize the impact of investments? How does a company define its most material or relevant ESG topics? How do stakeholders impact ESG decision making? How do companies and investors communicate and use ESG data? He will also share his experience working as an ESG consultant across sectors and consulting best practices.


Harry Etra is the CEO & Founder of HXE Partners, a sustainability and ESG advisory firm. Harry's experience is in advising public and private companies on their sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies. His experience includes helping companies develop their sustainability disclosures, prepare for engagements with institutional investors, and respond to annual investor ratings/rankings program requests. Harry holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a B.A. in history from Yale University.
