Speaker: Meghan (Spratt) Burnham, R.A., Project Architect, H2M architects + engineers Inc.

Inspiring the next generation of women to pursue a STEM career and lead the way in creating a more equal society which in turn makes for a sustainable tomorrow. We will bring light to the shortcomings we are currently facing in the world when it comes to women representation in the STEM field and encourage our next generation leaders to be the solution. We will discuss the importance of continuing STEM education and the importance of representation in the workforce and the effects it will have on the sustainability of the world we live in. While the lecture will focus on Women leadership in STEM it will also promote, teach and encourage male allyship.

Meghan (Spratt) Burnham

I am a Registered Architect in New Jersey and New York. I completed my Masters of Architecture at Roger Williams University in December 2013. While in school, I worked for the Community Partnership Center which provided architectural and project management services for non-profit companies in the local communities around Rhode Island. During the summers, I found job opportunities with both an architecture firm specializing in commercial projects and a small residential firm. Following my graduation, I took a full-time position with the residential firm. After a year of experience there, I joined H2M architects + engineers, where I have worked for the past 8 years and hold the current role of Project Architect.

My recent success has been in helping grow H2M's Architecture Department in New Jersey, specifically focusing on the K-12 education market. I am leveraging my 7+ years of experience and knowledge with H2M to better serve the city and towns of New Jersey. I also am the President and founding member of the Women's Leadership Outreach Group, which actively provides support throughout our 10+ communities we serve. We have organized many charity events benefitting breast cancer, nurses, the homeless and women's shelters to name a few, but we focus specifically on educating young female students of the possibilities of a career in STEM.
