Abstract

This presentation will give an architect and educator’s perspective on the affects lighting has on learning. Focusing on natural and artificial lighting as components of a healthy learning environment, topics will also cover natural light as a resource and how natural light can be utilized to create a more sustainable future.

Biography

Joseph E. Flynn is a Senior Architect with H2M architects + engineers, where he works primarily in the education and municipal markets, developing projects from concept to completion. He brings a unique perspective to H2M’s design team, with experience dealing with the challenges educational and municipal leaders are faced with daily in the operation of their communities.

Joe earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from NJIT, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Kean University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Centenary University.
