Hugo Neu Corporation Sustainability Seminar Series: LEED by Example

Abstract

This talk gives an architect’s perspective of green building rating systems and how they influence the design, construction, and operations of buildings. With an overview of LEED, including myths, costs, benefits, and examples of integrating green building principals into projects.

Biography

Erik Heuler is a Project Architect at H2M architects + engineers, where he works on all phases of architectural projects from design development through construction documents and construction administration. In addition to projects, he works extensively with H2M’s Sustainability Committee to advance corporate sustainability initiatives, data driven decisions, and integrative design. Mr. Heuler has previously been a green building consultant and has an extensive knowledge of the LEED green building rating system for both commercial and residential buildings and supports all projects with sustainability objectives regardless of the project’s certification goals. Erik has completed his bachelor’s in business administration from Hofstra University and bachelor’s in architecture from NYIT.
