Abstract

This topic will cover on how to incorporate climate change resiliency into infrastructure design. How to evaluate and incorporate climate change risks into resiliency planning for critical assets during the project life cycle from planning, funding, concept design, preliminary engineering, final design, construction, and operations & maintenance and to prioritize investments. Specifically, focus will be on the long-term resilience of the Hoboken Terminal & Yard from storm surge and sea level rise.

Biography

Mr. Mittul Patel is Vice President at BEM Systems, Inc. with over 20+ of experience in supporting transportation agencies on large complex capital projects that involved environmental compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Mr. Patel provides support to NJ TRANSIT as senior environmental program manager for the Superstorm Sandy Resilience Program that involves resiliency planning, asset management, evaluation of design flood elevations and evaluating effects of climate change for various capital projects.
