Emily will provide information on MetLife’s sustainability program, focusing especially on the company’s stakeholder engagement efforts on environment topics. Emily will discuss MetLife’s Our Green Impact program, which engages more than 10,000 employees from over 30 countries each year through a variety of activities and educational events. Emily will discuss how the program has shifted in 2020 to accommodate virtual work environments due to COVID-19 and address challenging issues that intersect with environmental sustainability, such as health & well being and racial equity.
Emily Adams joined MetLife’s Global Sustainability Team in 2014. The MetLife Sustainability Team is responsible for all of the company’s corporate responsibility programs, including climate change and environmental stewardship efforts. Emily leads MetLife’s global environmental employee engagement program “Our Green Impact”, in which over 10,000 associates from over 30 countries participated in 2019. Emily spearheads internal environmental communications, as well as external sustainability reporting, marketing and recognition efforts. Notable contributions include annual execution of the CDP Climate Change Investor Report, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ Climate Risk Survey, and MetLife’s annual Sustainability report. Emily graduated from Colgate University with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Geography and studied environmental policy at the University of Wollongong in Australia. Emily was recognized as part of the Green Biz 30 Under 30 cohort in 2020.
