Entrepreneurial Finance

School of Business - Stevens Academic Seminar Series

Headshot of Stefano Bonini

This lecture will provide an introduction to the market of startup and other small-businesses financing. After outlining the characteristics of the market and the most relevant financing channels — venture capital and private equity funds, angel investors, crowdfunding, and ICOs — we will provide a brief overview of the critical catalysts to an investment, including opportunity recognition, addressable market, strategy, and planned execution and value, from an investor's point of view.

About the presenter

Dr. Stefano Bonini leads the annual Entrepreneurial Finance conference at Stevens. He is an expert in corporate finance, venture capital and private equity, and behavioral finance.

About this series

The Stevens Academic Seminar Series is a joint effort by the university's three schools and one college, designed to further enrich the learning experiences of all students. Faculty-led lectures in the School of Business talks offer students valuable insights that present a practical complement to lessons and a primer on the kinds of skills employers expect new graduates to bring to the workplace.
