Campus Point Connection: 'Eddie Allen Aggregation' Big Band

Graphic featuring the College of Arts and Letters logo and headshot of performer Eddie Allen

On February 2, the College of Arts and Letters welcomes the Eddie Allen Aggregation, a big band of jazz musicians, to perform their program, "Before, During & Now: The African/African American Journey into the United States."

This educational excursion traces the Black experience, from the earliest African arrivals through slavery, the civil rights movement, and the current day. Each musical performance is preceded by a monologue that highlights its historical inspiration.

This ensemble loves to swing, entertain, educate, and keep the audience engaged. Its leader is Eddie Allen, a trumpeter, composer, arranger, author, and instructor within Stevens' music and technology program. Throughout his career, Allen has composed for jazz's greats, performed in Broadway orchestras, and led ensembles in the most revered spaces.

The event is free and open to the public. Please be sure to RSVP.
