Understanding Bias: How to Mitigate the Impact on Faculty Careers

Workshop Description: Dr. Eve Riskin, Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Faculty Director of the ADVANCE Center for Institutional Change at the University of Washington discusses bias and its influence on the evaluation of faculty performance and promotion. Topics include:

1. Basics of bias
2. Impact of bias on faculty careers
3. Strategies to interrupt bias

Safe Zone 1.0 for Faculty and Staff

Workshop Description: The Stevens Safe Zone Ally Program is a campus-wide initiative designed to educate Stevens community members on LGBTQ+ identity, terminology, current (in)justices impacting the LGBTQ community, and visibly identify Stevens staff, students, and faculty who seek to support the campus' LGBTQ population as allies.
