Unfortunately, with the uncertain climate and CDC and NJ guidance about large events, Stevens Institute of Technology has decided that it is in the best interest of the community, the students, and their families to postpone Commencement 2020, originally planned for May 20, 2020.
Stevens is currently working on rescheduling the ceremonies for a later date. When the date is confirmed, this website will be updated and the graduating students will be contacted.
In addition the Faculty Awards and PhD Hooding ceremony have been cancelled.
It is required for all faculty and staff participating in the Commencement Ceremonies and/or the Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony to wear academic regalia (robes, hoods, caps/tams). Details on how to order rental sets of regalia will be posted soon, once the new date of Commencement 2020 is set.
Family Members Graduating
Stevens has a tradition of offering faculty and staff members the opportunity to participate in the Commencement Ceremony if a family member is receiving a degree. When the graduate’s name is called, you are invited to present the diploma on stage, along with the President, Provost, or Dean. Also, VIP tickets can be available for your guests.
