Major: Chemical Engineering

I was in 8th grade when I took my first chemistry class and fell in love with the subject. I realized then that I wanted to pursue it for the rest of my life. I aspire to make the world a better place, and as a chemical engineer, I want to focus on optimizing production processes as well as minimizing waste. I would like to get a master’s degree in engineering management so that I can work with energy and technology companies to find sustainable fuels to power our world and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. So far at Stevens, I have started to attend meetings of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). These clubs are important to me because they help engineering students develop professional skills and focus on increasing interest in engineering among women and Latinos, both of which I am.
