Student Name: Adrian Garcia

Cohort: Fall 2018

Hometown: Paterson, NJ

Major: Engineering, Undecided

My passion for engineering began in high school thanks to my physics teacher. I believe that engineering offers me the most opportunities to develop and synthesize my creativity and technical problem-solving skills. Although my focus of engineering is undecided right now, I am most interested in electrical, computer and software engineering. Since starting at Stevens, I have become very involved with the university’s chapter of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). I feel passionate about supporting Hispanic people in higher education, so this organization was a perfect fit for me. Through the Clark Scholars Program, I intend to study abroad. My goal is to transfer the communication skills and independence gained through that experience to a future internship in another country.
