Subject: A Safe and Healthy Halloween During the Pandemic

Halloween is upon us, and in past years, it would be a time for celebrating with costumes, parades, and gathering with friends. Unfortunately, this year, we are experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases and this holiday cannot be celebrated in the same way without putting the health and safety of our community, friends, neighbors and loved ones at risk.

We urge you to consider your actions carefully this weekend and how your choices might impact your health and the health of those you are in contact with. Please take all COVID-19 precautions when celebrating this year.

Please remember to wear a protective mask (not just a costume mask), maintain 6 feet or more of social distance, and wash your hands regularly. Remaining outdoors while maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask may mitigate the spread of the virus.

For students who are on campus, there are a number of socially distant events planned to celebrate Halloween. In addition, the Student Government Association and many student organizations are hosting virtual Halloween events; please check on Ducklink and Instagram for details.

Stay safe and Happy Halloween!
