As a student-centric research university, Stevens considers academic matters to be of the highest importance.

With the health and safety of our faculty, staff and students as our top priority, we have made the decision that only first-year students, new transfer students, and new graduate students will have the opportunity for an on-campus learning experience in the fall 2020 semester.  This mode will include a mix of in-person, socially-distanced hybrid learning and online instruction.  All other students will continue to pursue their education online.

This decision, made with the goal of reducing the density of the campus population, is based on guidelines from the State of New Jersey and inputs from the Stevens community. New Jersey is currently at Stage 2 of its Restart Plan, and only certain forms of instruction are permitted: labs, clinical rotations, technical and hands-on instruction.

To help address the uncertainties involved with embassies and consulates reopening, specifically in China, India and certain other countries, and the ability of new international graduate students to arrive on campus in time for the start of the fall 2020 semester, Stevens has developed the several options for international students.
