Writing and Communications at the Institute (WCI)
Welcome
Written and oral communications skills are crucial for engineers, scientists and managers – a fact long recognized by every curriculum established at Stevens for the benefit of its students. The goal of the Writing and Communications at the Institute program (WCI) is to assist students, both graduate and undergraduate, in bettering their communications skills. WCI works with all areas of the Institute to assist students to achieve this goal.
WCI includes the following components:
- Writing intensive Humanities classes at the freshman level
- Master tutoring for undergraduate and graduate students
- Stevens English Competence Exam
- Graduate Certificate in Professional and Business Communications
- Humanities Resource Center
- Services for the School of Engineering (SoE) and the Howe School
- Resources for Humanities and writing students
- Assessment efforts across all three schools undertaken to meet the needs of all requisite accreditation agencies.
Stevens also hosts the Center for Science Writings.
