The Stevens Pre-Orientation
Experience 2008!

August 17-20, 2008*

*Outdoor Adventure and Performing Arts begin on Saturday, August 16.

At the end of this summer, you will meet new people, live away from home for the first time, and begin an intellectual journey that will lead you into your future. This time in your life is exciting and challenging, and we want you to begin that journey by spending it with people who share your interests beyond the classroom. These Pre-Orientation experiences will allow you to get to know some of your new classmates before classes even start, meet members of the Stevens faculty and administration, and take a new journey, all at the same time. There’s something for everyone!

Sports and Fitness Experience

Your Pre-Orientation starts with a trip to see the world famous New York Yankees in action. You will also have the experience of sampling various wellness and fitness programs Stevens offers as well as other recreational activities around the state such as ESPN Zone and Dave & Busters. We will check out New York’s Chelsea Pier Sports and Entertainment complex which includes boating, golf, batting cages, basketball, etc. End the experience by visiting the Yogi Berra Museum and taking a tour of the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden.

Performing Arts Experience

Learn about the performing arts at Stevens and sample what’s available in New York City by touring Radio City Music Hall and attending a Broadway play. Meet professionals to learn about the performing arts both on-stage and behind the scenes. Work in acting, improvisation, music, dance and technical theater to put together a performance at DeBaun Auditorium. Enjoy workshops, games, activities and master classes. No experience necessary.

*Performing Arts starts one day early on Saturday, August 16, 2007

The City Life Experience

Discover all the city has to offer you! Students will take a guided tour through Hoboken, various neighborhoods of New York City and visit some city landmarks including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Natural History.
Students will sample cuisine along the way while visiting Greenwich Village, Little Italy and Chinatown. By the end, we hope to familiarize students with two of the greatest cities the northeast has to offer!

Outdoor Adventure in
the Adirondacks

Spend four days and nights in the High Peaks region of Adirondack State Park, New York. Chose one of four activities offered:

Canoeing/camping – Explore Saranac Lake area, canoeing from lake to lake and
