The admissions process
at Stevens seeks to ensure that you have an accurate picture of the
opportunities and challenges offered by a Stevens education, while
also giving the Admissions committee enough information to assess
your potential for success.
Application
Fill out and send us your completed Stevens application along with
a $55 fee. You may also apply online and we'll waive
the $55 fee. All international students from non-English speaking
countries must send information that has been officially translated
into English.
- Optional Essay:
A personal statement is optional and may be included with your
application, along with any other materials that you believe support
your candidacy, such as special projects, research papers, honors
and awards, and creative writing.
College Entrance Examinations
Take the SAT I or ACT and submit your scores to us as early as the
end of your junior year. Students from non-English speaking countries
who score below 550 on the verbal section of the SAT I, must take
the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). For the Paper Based Test (PBT), the minimum TOEFL score accepted is 550. On the Internet Based Test (IBT), the minimum TOEFL score is 79.
Transcripts
Send us your official high school transcript(s) and/or certified
copies of your test results, if applicable.
Interview
An interview is not required.
Two Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation are required and must be submitted to support your
candidacy.
Financial Aid
We award a very limited number of Stevens Academic Fellowships based
on merit to international students. These scholarships average $4,000
per year. There is also a loan program available from outside lenders.
An American citizen or permanent resident is required to co-sign
for this TERI Loan. Another financing option is Cooperative Education,
a program that allows you to earn a competitive corporate salary
while alternating between semesters of work and study. Thirty-five
percent of our international students participate in co-op. We do
not offer need-based financial aid to international applicants.
Deadlines
For traditional fall semester applicants:
By March 1: Complete and return a Stevens Application for Admission. Make sure to include a personal statement, your recommendations, and transcripts (we will accept late applicants in special cases)
