Filing for Financial
Aid
File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or note
Stevens on your FAFSA renewal form. The six-character Title IV Institutional
code (Section H) for Stevens is 002639.
New Jersey residents who received EOF funding at the last college
attended should make a note of this on their Stevens application.
Note: the FAFSA is available at the Stevens Student Service Center or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Important Information about Financial
Aid
- Always keep photocopies of the FAFSA and completed tax
forms for your records.
- Be sure that you are filing the correct FAFSA for the
correct academic year.
- International students are ineligible to receive financial
aid, excluding certain merit-based awards.
- Stevens awards both merit-based and need-based awards
to transfer students. There is no separate application for merit
aid and every admission applicant is considered.
Evaluating
your Credit
- Complete the Stevens Transfer Credit Evaluation Form.
- Send all course descriptions and/ or course syllabi.
- When sending a college catalog, please mark and highlight all
courses to evaluate.
- Please read all information related to credit evaluations to
fully understand the process.
Stevens awards transfer credit by matching your courses with equivalent
Stevens courses. The content of a catalog description can usually
assist us in determining whether your course satisfy Stevens' academic
standards. However, the more information we have, the better chance
you have receiving credit. Ask your instructor or department head
to provide you with a course outline. Course outlines are highly
recommended for mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, statistics,
dynamics, and natural science courses.
We do not accept previously transferred credits from your last college;
evaluations are done with respect to each individual college you
attended.
An official AP score report is required for any AP credit.
Veterans: Form DD-214 is needed for military experience credit.
- International Students
Students transferring from a college(s) outside of the United
States must provide and certify the number of lab hours per week
and the number of weeks each course met per term. A TOEFL exam
score is required of all students from non-native English speaking
countries except students who score 550 or better on the verbal
section of the SAT. All documentation (including course descriptions)
must be translated. If you have any questions regarding transferring
credits from a college(s) outside of the U.S., please contact
Mrs. Edwina Fleming, Director of International Admissions at (800)
458-5323, efleming@stevens.edu
When your credit evaluation is complete we will also give you a
proposed course schedule for your first semester at Stevens.
