Technical Leadership Seminar/Webinar Series

The Technical Leadership Webinar series offers professionals seeking to advance their career an opportunity to interact directly with industry professors who will be teaching the courses. All sessions include an interactive coursework simulation aimed to provide participants with first-hand experiences of the stellar graduate education curriculum offered at Stevens.   There is no fee associated with the webinar sessions and all are encouraged to join us to learn more about the program.

The Stevens Technical Leadership inaugural program starts in September 2011 and will be held at the Stevens Washington, DC location in the Reagan Building.

Today, you will explore Technical Leadership from the viewpoint of historical leaders and followers.  Using history as the guide, you will look at the challenges faced by an historical figure as a means to introduce the notion of transformational leadership, and discuss transformational leadership relates to technical challenges.

Innovation is an essential ingredient of technical leadership, and it is more than just a buzz word.  What does it really mean to innovate or be an innovator?  How can you lead a team to innovate?  Today you will explore the role of innovation as a technical leader, and how to synthesize it, manage it, leverage it.

Technical leaders at the top of their profession must consider decisions in the context of the entire enterprise.  As a technical leader, you will encounter challenges in driving sustainable enterprise growth, optimizing stakeholder and shareholder value, ensuring enterprise competitiveness, and implementing change initiatives.  Today you will explore a case study that addresses some of these challenges.
