TRANSPORTATION
A major concern for Stevens students is getting around to neighboring cities
or towns. Underclassmen residents, in particular, are affected since they may
not keep vehicles on campus. Luckily, Hoboken is easily accessible
by trains or buses. The city itself is less than one mile long, so
many stores and businesses are within walking distance from Stevens.
This guide will help you get around on your own, but for additional
information consult the
Office of Student
Life.
Hoboken's
Taxis
Hoboken boasts several cab companies. Many of these companies are
based at Hudson Plaza (near the PATH and train station). |
Hoboken Taxi
420-1480 |
| Mojica Cab 420-1214 |
| Tube Taxi Co. 659-4600 |
Buses
The most important thing to know about most buses is that you must bring exact
change. Drivers will accept dollar bills as part of the fare payment, but they
do not make change.
Trains
Hoboken Terminal is the location of main offices of New Jersey Transit. The terminal
at Hudson Plaza can provide train service to many New Jersey communities. Hoboken
is also blessed with a PATH
(Port Authority Trans-Hudson) terminal. The terminal
is located at Hudson Plaza, which is below Newark and First Streets. PATH trains
provide services to midtown and downtown Manhattan, Jersey City, Newark and Harrison.
PATH trains connect with other train lines in Newark's Penn Station and New York's
Penn Station.
